How to Islamize our Knowledge

In reflection 3, the lecturer delivered her lecture about the Islamization of Knowledge. She shows a powerpoint slide show entitled “How to Islamize our Knowledge”. This slide is from Dr Mahmudul Hasan. In her point, she gives the elaboration of this topic by stressing on the definition of Islamization of Knowledge. It means that the developing human knowledge in accordance with Islamic principles or perspectives. In addition to that, the lecturer emphasizes on the concept of ‘Desecularisation and Dekufurisation’ of modern and contemporary human knowledge. She asked the students to give the definition of these terms. Some of the students respond and argue concerning each other’s viewpoints of these two terms. 

One of the students gave his views regarding this matter which all knowledge in this world comes from Allah the Almighty. Even the holy Quran and Hadith can be misguide, what’s more other knowledge. Therefore, it shows that the people itself who misuse the knowledge and becomes unislamic. Hence, every ummah must be the one to uphold the knowledge so that we can implement the concept of Islamization of Knowledge in our daily life. Besides, in order to Islamize the knowledge, people need to incorporate the Islamic knowledge in learning.  Finally, the lecturer concluded that the murabbi must be the one to uphold the knowledge, thus the followers will be emulate which means they will follow and be better.
